A Yeti Obhijaan Chat over Serafina’s New Lunch Menu – with Srijit and Aryann

Every year, Srijit Mukherji comes up with a film that releases around the time of Durga Pujo. And, as an incompetent Bangali, I skip pandal-hopping and go to the theatre with my beau to watch that film, and return home after a lunch date. This year, the sensational director has come up with Yeti Obhijaan, a sequel to his first Kakababu movie, Mishawre Rahoshyo. Prosenjit Chatterjee and Aryann Bhowmik will once again be seen in the parts of Kakababu and Sontu.

Before the big release, I had one of those lunches that makes me glad about my blogger life. A couple of other bloggers and I had a lovely lunch at Serafina, Quest Mall, with none other than Srjit Mukherji and Aryann Bhowmik. Over a hearty Italian meal, they told us about the film, and the shooting experience.

About Yeti Obhijaan

The film is an adaptation of Sunil Gangopadhyay’s Pahar Churaye Aatonko , and takes the uncle-nephew duo to Gorokhshep plateau, where they try to unravel the mystery of the legendary Yeti. While talking to us about the film Srijit and Aryann recollected how it was demanding to shoot various scenes of the movie while battling with the challenges posed by the climate and location of Switzerland. Amazingly, the film was hot in just 23 days, but they cast and crew had a tough time in that short period of time.

Their major challenge was coping with the temperature, as most of the time, it stayed below the freezing point. The terrain didn’t help, either. The climax scene has been shot in a cave! Yet, our health-conscious and athletic lead actors pushed through. Needless to say, it was fun for them, as well, as they had various experiences. As we talked over the sumptuous spread, they recollected how the team, like any Chinese-food-obsessed Bangalis, found themselves an eatery that offered Chinese food! Coincidentally, they also found a dining place called Yeti!

New Lunch Menu at Serafina

And, while we are on the subject of food, I would like to talk about the amazing new lunch menu at Serafina. We tried some incredibly delicious items, like the Spaghetti All’ Abruzzes, Jalapeno, Corn Chowder Soup, Fish Dumpling, Chicken Caesar Salad, Roasted Vegetable Lasagne, Panzanella Salad, and Pizza Norcina. I maintain that Serafina is one of the best Italian places in Kolkata. It’s pizzas and pastas with a white base are what I want for the last meal of my life. Their new additions to the menu are outstanding, and match up to the standard. My favourites were the Spaghetti All’ Abruzzes, Chicken Caesar Salad, the Corn Chowder Soup and the Pizza Norcina.

Hence, My Pujo Date Plan

Yeti Obhijaan released today, and I missed the premiere show. But, that doesn’t make me upset, because, it only confirms my Pujo plan – to go watch the movie with my one and only. I am thinking of starting the day with a nice lunch at Serafina; the ambience is quite romantic, after all. And I’m planning to have a blast on the day Pujo starts, i.e. Ponchomi. But, if you’re not the kind of person to go on a lunch-and-film date during the Durga pujos, you can still do it, with anyone you like, on any other day! Just don’t miss catching Kakababu and Sontu in their latest adventure – and the Italian delights at Serafina!
