Banana Leaf is known for the wide range of authentic South Indian food, like dosas, baby idlis, uttapam, etc. They are also extremely popular for the unlimited veg thali. But this month, they have come up with the Parantha Festival. I was invited to attend a brunch, with parantha and idiyappam on the menu. And what can I say? I absolutely loved the food, which is nothing new when it comes to Banana Leaf. The paranthas were so soft and thin that they tore off with just a gentle tug of the fingers.

The paranthas were served with a tiny katori of the most delicious veg kurma. You can ask for as many refills of this as you want, or request for some other side, like sambhar,  or any of their other special items. Don’t forget the raita, coconut milk, etc. which taste just as amazing with them. Besides the paranthas, there’s also idiyappam at Banana Leaf that’s a must-try.  This pancake made of pressed and steamed rice-flour noodles. They are just melt-in-your-mouth soft, and pair perfectly with the spicy, tangy vegetarian sides.
